LeBron James won’t need surgery on his injured right foot, sources tell Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report (Twitter link).
The Lakers haven’t released many details about James’ condition since he suffered the injury during Sunday’s game in Dallas. He is reportedly seeking multiple medical opinions on how to proceed and will be reevaluated in two weeks.
By avoiding surgery, the 38-year-old star still has a chance to return for part of the regular season and the postseason if L.A. is able to qualify. He has been limited to 47 games this season, but continues to play at a very high level, averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.9 rebounds in 36.1 minutes per night.
James was wearing a walking boot and moving “gingerly” during the Lakers’ game at Memphis on Tuesday night, according to a TMZ Sports report. James posted an Instagram image of his injured foot on Monday.
The beginning of the end of the road for LeBron. Good luck Lakers.
That’s cuz it’s not called surgery when you repair a cyborg
His defense has been non existenr all season. This foot injury would only hurt the team more. Needs to stop taking low percentage shots like his 3-point shooting. The other teams get free layups in transition because Lebron will miss a lot of shots, not play defense/be too busy complaining to the refs as to why he got fouled. Hes a top 2 basketball player of all time but at this point in his career, he needs to realize that hes older now. The team would be better off with him scoring 15 points a game and playing decent defense. His meaningless 30 ppg haven’t transitioned into winning basketball in 3 years. Not to mention as someone whos already made hundreds of millions of dollars, he has handicapped the team by taking up most of the payroll. As someone who would “do anything to win”, this just gives fans the impression that hes playing to statpad his career stats to put himself ahead in the GOAT debate. Too busy making movies and commercials to work on his free throws too
Thank you for that comment. As a Lakers fan that watches every single game, I agree 100% with you.
As someone who watches basketball please stop. LBJ is helping the Lakers to stay relevant. RIP but don’t compare him to Kobe who towards the end was shooting way too much at less than a favorable FG%. And I say that with respect to Kobe who was an all time great. But LBJ Is scoring 30 while shooting over 50% from the field and getting easy shots for others. His defensive intensity isn’t 100% but he does make some great blocks when needed.
