Raptors assistant Adrian Griffin is expected to interview for the team’s head coaching position, Chris Haynes of NBA on TNT tweets.
Griffin remains on the Raptors’ staff, though the organization parted ways with Nick Nurse at the end of the season. Griffin interviewed for the Rockets’ head coaching job but Houston reached an agreement with former Celtics coach Ime Udoka on Monday.

Griffin is also rumored to be a candidate for the Pistons’ head coaching position. Griffin filled in for Nurse during a game in February when Nurse dealt with a family matter. He hoped the experience would help him eventually land a top job.
“It’s something I’d like to pursue in the future as far as being a head coach so this is good practice for me,” he said after that game.
Imagine if he showed up.dressed as Ime Udoka lol
This has been a long time coming for Adrian Griffin, definitely happy for the man. He’s more than put in his dues, and he deserves a shot somewhere..
He might get a longer leash in Detroit, and they certainly have the brighter future, but in Toronto he’d also be alot closer to being able to win now..
Then again, idk, I thought Nurse did a really solid job in Toronto. I thought he maximized their talent, and took them just about as far as that roster could go…
There really isn’t a ton of upside in Toronto, as far as being able to move the needle any higher. If Griffin goes to Detroit, there is certainly a ton of room to improve, which could lead to gim keeping his job longer.
As a first time head coach, which job would you guys want??
Wouldn’t want work for Ujiri.
First HC job… Take the rebuilding one so it looks like you made a difference…
But if I wanted to be competitive I’d take the Raptors job…
