Jae Crowder was baffled by his lack of playing time as the top-seeded Bucks lost 4-1 in the first-round series against the Heat, Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. However, he’s still interested in re-signing with the organization.
While Jimmy Butler carved up the Bucks’ defense, Crowder played only 18 seconds in Game 5. He didn’t play at all in Game 4 and averaged 13.6 minutes in the first three games.
“I’ve never been in a situation like that,” Crowder said. “Eleven years. Check my résumé. I’ve been playing. I’ve always been playing. I’m very confused as to why I was brought here. I don’t know my purpose here and why I was brought here.”
In his walk year, Crowder chose to sit out until the Suns traded him. His situation was one of the big storylines during the first half of the season until the Bucks acquired him at the trade deadline.
Crowder expected to play major minutes during the postseason due to his playoff experience, defensive prowess and perimeter shooting. Instead, his role vanished during the series.
“Yeah, I wasn’t expecting that, DNPs,” he said. “I haven’t had them in my career so why start now?”
Yet, Crowder won’t rule out re-signing with Milwaukee this summer. He enjoys being around his current teammates.
“I would (return), because in the locker room it’s a great group of guys who puts work first and we have fun after that,” he said. “I can work in that type of environment and I really do appreciate my teammates for welcoming me. From day one it’s just been love from that side. But that’s a conversation that has to be had.”
He sits out for 3/4 of the season, gets traded and then barely plays. Whine like a baby Jae. You are old and just about useless.
Well, there’s also the fact that the Bucks GM spent 3/4 of the season (and some time before it started) trying desperately to acquire him, and then the coach chooses not to use him. It wouldn’t surprise me if the GM is scratching his head as well.
It further proves that if you, as a player, ain’t a Bud guy, he ain’t gonna play you. And if you ARE , he’ll force you into action no matter how bad/old/redundant you are.
It’s not that he wasn’t a Bud guy, he just stunk up the joint in his first two games of the series. A liability on both ends, including defense.
I guess I was mainly thinking of George Hill for comparison. Bud insisted on playing him (when he was actually healthy-ish) despite not being very good anymore his last couple years in MKE.
The Dude has averaged under 10 points and under 5 rebounds in his career. He has made $55 million dollars, that’s soooo much for soooo little production.
You obviously haven’t seen him play. He plays great defense, causes turnovers, and doesn’t need to shoot the ball 15 times a game, but will still hit a clutch 3 when needed… or at least he used to.
That was him a year ago. Today? Far from it.
“Yeah, I wasn’t expecting that, DNPs,” he said. “I haven’t had them in my career so why start now?”
Why start now? Because you used to be good but are pretty much washed now.
Bud is not that good of a coach.
Maybe, but you can’t prove it by him not playing Crowder.
Bet he wishes he was in Phoenix playing 30 min a night completing for a championship
Jae thinks he’s a star.
Lakers can do $6mm contract
Look at my resume means nothing in the present
“Im very confused as to why I was brought here. I don’t know my purpose here and why I was brought here. I’m getting dnp’s… that ain’t never happened before. But, sign me up… I’ll come back!”
If you read between the lines, he’s basically asking them to fire Budenholzer.
He should have played a lot more he would have helped against Jimmy.
Jae:
Communicate your concerns and questions to your head coach and coaches, to your agent, or with the head Bucks basketball person.
NOT THROUGH THE MEDIA !!
GROW UP !! Use some Common Sense.
When it comes to airing your disappointments to the team via comments to the media, just….
CLAM CROWDER !!
Unless you’re demanding a trade (and a superstar like KD, Kyrie, harden, etc) then definitely do that through the media.
The whole crowder thing was extremely confusing and made little to no sense the entire year. From his situation in Phoenix, to Brooklyn flipping him, to Milwaukee not using him in a matchup they needed him in.
Have to look at FA and everything else, but off the top of my head, I hope he is a significant option for the Heat
They tried him in the first two games. He stunk.
I am not surprised. The Bucks tried to widget up as many pieces as the could in an effort to win it and did not know what to do with them all once the playoffs started.
Next to no one after the core five knew what their steps were supposed to be.
Miami picked thier way through everyone of not them and handed it to the Bucks.
Poor decision making and lack of cohesion is why the Bucks lost.
The bucks just lost. You’re not gonna win all the time. The warriors won some and lost some. Everybody tryin to win sometime or another. This wasn’t there year. The lakers won some and lost some so hey. It is wat it is.
Wonder what else surprises Jae Crowder
past performance dos not guarantee future results
Im shocked he played at all, sitting out most of the season.
