The Wizards hold the No. 8 pick in the draft and Villanova forward Cam Whitmore wouldn’t mind being part of their future, according to Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington. Whitmore, who grew up in Maryland, is projected as a top-10 selection.
“That’s home, the D.M.V. There’s nothing like playing at home. The fans, hopefully they would be excited to have me. We’ll see if they pick me,” Whitmore said.
We have more from the Eastern Conference:
- The Pistons had terrible luck at the lottery, dropping from No. 1 to No. 5. Trading the pick may be the way to go and James Edwards III of The Athletic explores that possibility. Edwards throws out a number of intriguing trade packages where the Pistons could wind up with Pascal Siakam, Keldon Johnson or RJ Barrett, or move up to the No. 3 spot in a deal with Portland.
- Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo had some fun on social media when a Warriors fan implored him to push for a trade to Golden State. Antetokounmpo smiled and said, “Nah, I’m not that kind of guy,” JR Radcliffe of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel relays. The two-time MVP cannot opt out of his contract until the summer of 2025.
- In a lengthy mailbag piece, The Athletic’s Eric Nehm writes in-depth about the Bucks’ coaching opening and why the organization parted ways with Mike Budenholzer. Nehm believes the next coach needs to have a solid plan about improving the Bucks’ half-court offense.
Brandon Miller is the best player in college.
Pistons like him.
Brandon Miller is comparable to healthy Paul George.
Pistons have nothing the Blazers really like
#3 and #5 are huge difference.
3 + 2 = 5
Giannis just threw a haymaker at KD, lol
Steph better than all though!
Lol Wizards. Cam Whitmore won’t be around when they pick. That franchise is ridiculous.
That’s why I like Giannis. He won’t leave Milwaukee. I don’t care what anyone says. They should have at least another ring by now. Next coach is a big key here. Don’t blow it.
Yes Pistons dropped out of top 3. That !!
Definitely is bad luck. But they got lucky with Wiseman. And may get lucky with the 5th pick. Moving up for Scoot. Is a great move imo. I’m with it 100%. But look at who’ll be there at #5. Taylor Hendricks or Amen Thompson will be there.
Imo best move Rockets can make. Is move up for Scoot. Blazers definitely moving that pick. Scoot is the Real PG. He can step right in with Pistons or Rockets. But Blazers could package that pick for another star. To pair with Dame for a run at a Title.
So who should be there at #5.
Don’t see Rockets taking Hendricks. Since they have Smith there. He is their future.
So he will be there for Pistons. He’s got potential to be a 2way star at the 4. This is who they should be looking at #5. Rockets at #4 probably go with Amen Thompson. Taking Hendricks now gives Pistons the chance to move Isaiah Stewart. Stewart can help many teams.

I like walker or Thompson for them, not trading out (although keldon johnson would be great)
