Myles Turner was selected by the Pacers with the No. 11 overall pick in 2015. Turner revealed that he expected to go much higher in the lottery, Tidal League tweets.
“I thought I was going number 5 to Orlando. … I’m at the table in the green room. ‘With the number 5 pick the Orlando Magic select Mario Hezonja.’ I’m like, ‘Who the (expletive) is this?'” Turner said, adding that it was a “blessing in disguise” when he ended up going to Indiana at No. 11.
We have more notes from the Eastern Conference:
- Josh Richardson joined the Heat in 2015 after playing four seasons at Tennessee, making him a polished, ready-for-prime-time player. Entering his second stint with the franchise, Richardson continues to play with an intelligent, measured style that has aged well, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel opines. Richardson rejoined Miami as a free agent on a two-year contract.
- The Bulls remain outside the top six in the Eastern Conference’s pecking order, according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun Times. They are not a serious threat as currently constructed, though all the teams above them are flawed, Cowley writes. The Bucks and Celtics take the top two spots in Cowley’s rankings.
- The Nets earned a B-minus for their offseason moves, according to NetsDaily.com. The team’s two biggest question marks remain unanswered — namely, do they have enough scoring and can they improve their rebounding?
DeM DeR >>>>>> to Knicks.
The Bulks have a favorable schedule so if they get a fast start and avoid major injuries, they could surprise. I do not see them winning more than 47 games though, and that would v require a little luck.
Not sure what AKME thinks they are doing, since they make moves like a contender would but they really are not top-6 unless other teams falter.
MIL, PHI, BOS, CLE are clearly better, ATL, NYK, MIA, TOR all look as good or better, and DET, ORL, IND, all improved more than the Bulls.
They are one serious injury away from being worst in the conference, maybe WAS is worse but BKN has a solid young core, and if CHA gets a full year frim their youngsters they will certainly be better than the Bulls.
It just makes me shake my head and sigh.
Might make sense for the Bulls to make a trade centered around Lonzo Ball for Harden. They desperately need a PG. And all though Harder. Is far from the ideal candidate, he is a good passer.
Would probably have to be a three or four team trade because the Sixers are looking to win.., they’re not going to take back Lonzo ball and that big contract and not have a player perform for them. If he does come back he’s a year out right? So maybe one of those under cap teams can help out?
Da Bulls should have torn the team down and gotten as many draft picks for the next few years.
Heck, they should just trade LaVine and DD and let White and Williams play their positions.
Get whatever you can with picks and start rebuilding.
They SHOULD have done that 2 years ago. Getting off Lavines money and finding a desperate fringe contender for DeMar is now a necessity if they’d like to smell contention before the end of the decade
