Add the Jazz to the list of teams that could be involved on the periphery of a Damian Lillard trade, writes Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.
In particular, if the Trail Blazers eventually trade Lillard to the Heat, the Jazz, Bulls, Hornets and Nets are all thought to be interested in acquiring Tyler Herro in a multi-team trade, sources tell Fischer. Portland is reportedly unenthusiastic about Herro, in part because the team already has a trio of young guards in Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe and Anfernee Simons.
League personnel also expect the Blazers to ask the Heat for Jaime Jaquez in a possible deal, according to Fischer. A small forward out of UCLA, Jaquez was selected 18th overall by Miami in June’s draft.
Brooklyn has long been considered a team with a level of interest in Herro. The other three teams are new possible landing spots for the 23-year-old, however, from what we’ve seen reported in recent months.
Trade talks for Lillard have picked up steam ahead of training camp, though a deal isn’t considered imminent. The Bulls and Raptors are reportedly among Lillard’s other suitors, despite the veteran guard making it clear (via his agent) that he wants to land in Miami.
Multiple sources tell Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports that the Pacers are another team that could potentially help facilitate a Lillard trade, along with the Suns.
Indiana is looking to move Buddy Hield after extension talks fizzled. It’s unclear where Hield would be headed in that scenario — or if he’d even be involved. Dallas, Philadelphia and Milwaukee are rumored to be interested in the veteran sharpshooter.
lots of BS chatter going around… Lillard will be on the Heat this time next week… the Blazers are leaking everything imaginable today lol
Seems more like a Heat leak.
how are reports attempting to drive up the Lillard price Heat generated leaks? lol
Lillard lol will be a blazer lol next week lol. Why because Miami lol doesn’t come close lol to having the assets to lol aquire him….
@hardensbeard Lmao it doesn’t lmao matter lmao cuz it’s the lmao the only lmao offer Portland will LMFAO get.
Herro won’t be a Justice Winslow or Hassan Whiteside. Whoever gets him is getting a poor man’s Steph Curry.
He’s a gamer with his best still ahead.
If Portland thinks Sharpe or Simons are better good for them.
I wouldn’t say Simons is better, as far as what they bring to a team it’s about the same. Simons is a little cheaper and has been with the team longer though.
It’s too early to tell with Sharpe.
I see more jordan Poole in herro than Steph.
If herro never makes a single all star game nobody has a right whatsoever to consider that a surprise or disappointment
Trade dame to somewhere, Portland. If Miami is giving up an old ahh Lowry and Duncan Robinson and a bunch of scrubs then trade him to teams that offers better players and draft assest for your team. Who cares if he is not happy that his not in Miami. Let him cry and be a little brat over there and let the other team deal with his situation.
I am tired of dame trade topics every week. It’s getting annoying week after week. I Hope a trade is done when I post this comment
The inmates are most definitely running the asylum!
You gotta love how there are more teams that are interested in Herro than Dame himself, right?
Wonder if Miami would trade Herro even without a Dame trade….
I mean he’s been around the team for a while now and been the clear best SG but has never really been able to step into a starting position for whatever reason. He’s a bucket, and I like the kid and clearly he gets on great with his teammates but at what point do you say he’s just a spark plug off the bench and not a potentially top tier SG???
I mean Miami isnt actively looking to remove him cause he’s not a problem and he’s helped them win. Maybe he’s not been perfect but he’s been a vital cog in the machine. But if your serious about winning then I think the time has come where you do something in order to get over the hump.
Jimmy can’t do it all by himself, Bam is off limits and Herro is the third most valuable trade chip.
All these reports coming out about multiple teams interested in Dame. Why don’t the Heat start sniffing around other top tier talent?
James Harden, Zach LaVine or DeMare DeRozan to name a few. Heck I’d even look into packages for Terry Rozier and Gordan Hayward.
Miami aren’t desperate to do anything and are doing things the right way here just sitting back and waiting it out with the limited assets they do have.
Just for reference, If Dame doesn’t happen I’d love to see that Charlotte deal.
Terry Rozier, Gordan Hayward and Cody Martin for Kyle Lowry, Tyler Herro and Nikola Jovic
Miami lines up
Terry Jimmy Hayward Caleb Martin Adebayo
… JRich Jaquez Cody Martin KLove
Still okay everything off Jimmy and Bam as your two guys but Terry is a super solid ball handler, shooter and can switch on defensively. Gordan Hayward is abit old and past it but at times I think could still give you great 20+ points per game nights when you need them.
If it doesn’t work out Hayward gives you a huge expiring deal and you can chase a third star then.
Jimmy help might not be another big star but just better depth and experience.
Hornets get sold on the idea of Herro joining their young core with Ball Miller and so on. Lowry gives them a solid vet for some stability and still a good scoring deal and depth. Then lastly Jovic on potential. Hayward leaving opens up minutes for Miller Bridges and Washington while they have needed to add a third guard for a while really…
Maybe in order to get it done Miami gives away some picks aswell but I love that deal for them
Hornets would make sense, but does Portland want their picks? Hornets if healthy can be a decent team. Late teen firsts. But that is an IF. Most likely, Portland will keep playing dumb games And everyone will get sick of it And back out
I like the idea of Rozier on Miami. He has the right personality for them and would definitely add some ballhandling and shooting, if not with the 3% accuracy of Herro. Defensively he is an upgrade over Herro. I agree on the picks but this is Charlotte we’re talking about, they are good at finding ways to fail.
I’m saying you make this move regardless of Dame.
Herro hasn’t helped them win at all, and that’s probably why they want to trade him. The Heat were barely a 500 team last year. It’s only after he got hurt that they got hot in the playoffs.
Heat had a higher win% when he played than when he didn’t during the season, but go ahead and keep the hate going. Your just making yourself to obvious at this point
How is Terry Rozier any kind of shooter other than substandard? I know he had a year or two with respectable numbers, but he reverted to form last season. Not only that, Hayward hasn’t been worth a crap since his broken ankle. Why would Miami want him, except as the expiring contract you mentioned. If he plays 40 games this season, we’ll all be surprised.
No deal.
Rozier on his career is 37% which is about average, aside from this season he had been shooting great in Charlotte.
There’s a correlation between his shot attempts and 3P%, the more he shots the worse his percentages get. Instead of taking 18 shots per game, in Miami he’s be taking more like 14 and in turn his 3P% would be about 39%.
As for Hayward he’d be a solid 3rd or 4th option and I believe he’s still got lots in the tank he’s just been on a bad team so for long now. For the season he might only average 15 points per game or so but I could see him coming in clutch at times and having a big 30 point game occasionally too.
When you come up against really good teams, the Heat need to have other options aside from Jimmy. Hayward can still get hot and torch guys, he’s got a full bag of moves and ways to score and would be a ideal go to guy when you need but don’t expect it from.
As for over 40 games played, he’s done that every season of his career besides the 1 he got injured, so that’s just a dumb remark…
And as I said if he doesnt work out then sweet, use that money to go FA shopping.
The heat would need to trade more than Hero and their last #1 pick for Lliard. I see Chicago a better fit in a trade if Zach and some picks come back.
Bulls ain’t treating no picks, so where is the third team providing them, and for what?
Zach straight up for Lliard is not happening.
Zach is a terrible fit for Portland
The Bulls can’t be interested in Herro. Herro is a talented good player. The Bulls already have LaVine, White, Caruso, Dosunmu, and Carter.
