Two-way player Nathan Knight has been waived by the Celtics, Jared Weiss of The Athletic tweets.
The 6’8” forward hasn’t appeared in any games this season. He came off the bench in 38 games last season for Minnesota.
Overall, he has appeared in 108 regular season games with the Hawks and Timberwolves, averaging 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per game. The Wolves declined their team option on Knight during the offseason and didn’t issue a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.
He signed with the Knicks but was waived during training camp. Knight was signed to one of Boston’s three two-way spots on Oct. 22.
Knight has seen action in 12 games with Boston’s G League affiliate in Maine, averaging 8.9 points and 8.3 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game.
Boston now has one two-way spot open. Guard JD Davison and center Neemias Queta occupy the other two-way spots.
They are getting lined up to make some moves
By waiving a guy on a two-way?
6’8″ Nathan Knight has been leading the Maine Celtics in rebounding. Some of his stats look terrific. But maybe Celts do want someone else in that two-way spot to bring up. Or maybe they are indeed getting ready to do something. I’ll just watch and wonder.
If they are getting lined up to do something, hopefully it’s a new coach so we can have chance to win it all! JOE HAS TO GO!
Sorry, can’t agree.
Just read how Coach Mazzulla praised JT & JB for their team play in last night’s win. And that win followed a very good team play win against the Knicks. I was slow warming up to Joe but have now come around. He’s got JT & JB scoring 20-25 each night instead of 30-35. And passing to our higher percentage three point shooters like D White, while still driving to the hoop. We need JT & JB’s drives and resulting free throws. This Boston Celtics team is coming around nicely! Thanks Coach M!
It’s amazing How Joe get’s criticism. Ime dud early in his only year. Joe this year has way better assistants and VanGundy to consult with plus Brad too. He made the right calls last night too.
