First-round pick Brandin Podziemski has been a revelation for the Warriors, quickly becoming an integral part of the team. The Athletic’s Anthony Slater details how Golden State’s front office became enamored with him and how quickly he earned a spot in the rotation.
However, the Warriors guard feels he has a much higher ceiling.
“I want to be an All-Star,” Podziemski said. “You know, (Jonathan Kuminga) has taken that next step of really being in that conversation. To see his growth just this year has been pretty special. So going into the summer after this year elevating my game to another level, doing the things that I’m deficient in now and making them as efficient as possible, I think I can get there.”
We have more from the Pacific Division:
- While Draymond Green contacted super-agent Rich Paul in an unsuccessful effort to get LeBron James to consider a trade from the Lakers to Golden State, Green told Warriors owner Joe Lacob to hold onto the team’s blossoming young forward in any trade discussions. “The one thing the NBA does not want to see, is Anthony Davis and Kuminga together for the next 10 years. That would be scary!” he said in an NBA on TNT interview (Twitter link).
- Former Sixers coach Doc Rivers was consulted by the Clippers before they acquired James Harden from Philadelphia, he told Tomer Azarly of Clutch Points. Rivers has since taken over the Bucks’ head coaching job. “I was the one, obviously, they consulted,” Rivers said. “They made calls and I was one of the guys who said it would be a great deal for them because I thought he fit them better than he would fit the Sixers team. I think he’s a perfect fit there. It’s a league. We talk. They just talked, asked questions, and I was on board early.”
- Speaking of Harden, Mark Medina of Sportsnaut.com describes how the Clippers guard has made changes to his game to fit in with his current teammates. That includes his mindset on the offensive end. “My job for this team is to touch the paint and get the shot, make the shot and make the game a lot easier for teammates,” Harden said. “Whether I have my step-back going or getting to the paint, I’m going to make a play for a teammate.”
Glad to see Draymond having a good time on television again.
Maybe next we can get Miles Bridges his own daytime talk show, or better, put him a Wheaties box — for the kids, of course.
Is there a beef stew brand with some collaboration potential?
Comparing Draymond to Bridges is ridiculous and you know it. I don’t like Draymond one bit but he’s not the kind of man Bridges is.
Maybe doc was the wrong fit in Philly and not so much harden. Rivers was a mediocre nba player, who kept that tag as a nba head coach.
That maybe feels generous at this point. Also not a doctor.
When Doc played it was a different era and for his time Doc was considered a very solid point guard. He knew his role offensively, he was a smart player, a good passer and a very tough defender.
He wasn’t elite like Magic Johnson or John Stockton but much like Avery Johnson or Mo Cheeks he was good guy to have around.
As a coach he’s also been very solid. For most of his career his team has had a winning record and way more often than not his teams make the playoffs. Yeah he’s only won one championship but how many great coaches never even won one? Don Nelson, Jerry Sloan and George Karl to name a few. Furthermore who knows what would have happened if Griffin and CP3 weren’t always getting injured when it mattered when he coached the Clippers or if Ben Simmons hadn’t just disappeared during game seven vs. the Hawks in the 2021 Semis.
Nah. It was both of them.
Doc will always have just 1 championship. Thibs and KG got it for him. The Bucks fire Coach Bud and that was a bad call.
Substitute solid for mediocre doesn’t change the fact. Mo Cheeks was a far superior player by the way. Griffin and Paul both despise him so….
Far superior?

Rvers should just keep his mouth shut and just work hard. He says that he asked Bucks ownership he didnt understand Griffin firing. Why did he take the job then?? He says he didnt want to start until all star break?? Why didnt you then? Dont you have any priciples?
He even tries to take credit for Harden’s move and success in LA. A lot of his former players dont have respect for him because of his personal life, hypocrisy, and lazy work ethics. This is his last stop. TV job no longer waits.
