Chris Boucher has fallen out of the Raptors rotation and he’d be “cool” with a change of scenery, he told Michael Grange of Sportnet.
“I mean, everything has to end, right? So if that’s what’s gonna happen, then cool,” Boucher said. “Hopefully it will [put me] in a better position. But … you never know what could happen. With what’s been going on this year, obviously, I just got to wait my turn, I guess. If a better situation shows up and they decide to send me somewhere else, so be it.”
Boucher has another year left on his contract. Bruce Brown, recently acquired from Indiana, is more likely to be moved. He’s trying to ignore the trade rumors.
“Not even thinking about it, to be honest,” Brown said. “I’m just trying to control what I can control, and I can’t control that end of it.”
We have more on the Raptors:
- Speaking of the trade deadline, Blake Murphy of Sportnet believes Brown is the player most likely to be dealt. He speculates that Toronto would take a decent second round pick to shed Boucher’s contract. Murphy also evaluates the potential market for Dennis Schröder, Gary Trent Jr, Otto Porter Jr. and Thaddeus Young.
- Eric Koreen of The Athletic argues the Raptors should take whatever they can get for the above-mentioned players, as well as Kira Lewis Jr, Jalen McDaniels and Garrett Temple.
- In a separate story, Koreen emphasizes the need for the organization to avoid a lengthy rebuild and developing a loser’s mentality.
- Temple would like to keep playing beyond this year but knows that at age 37, he may have difficulty getting another contract. “I know people around the team understand how important veterans are, and I think teams (across the league) do honestly. But at the end of the day, it’s still a numbers game, and I learned that part of the business in my first year,” he told Grange.
If I was the the Raptors, I would trade Trent and Temple to Detroit for Wiseman and Hayes, then trade Brown, Dennis S and Jacob P for draft picks, expiring contracts and a young PF. Keep Boucher because he is the last to have the championship ring on the team. He should be a lifer
Why keep Boucher if he can’t get minutes? If some team has a spot for his skillset you move him for a 2nd rp
When they are done trading the players I listed above and probably waive Otto Porter and T Young then there should be minutes available. Boucher represents continuity and has the championship ring they worked hard for. By your standards the Heat should of waived UD 9 years ago. Plus who cares about a 2nd rd pick for him, I would rather have that one player with the ring on their only championship in my locker room
UD actually contributed on those championships team….
Yes I know that but we would be hypothetically saying after that and when he was barely playing. I know UD and Boucher are nothing close to each other but I’m just saying championship experience is important and have someone like that around…
After the trade deadline whoever is here will get playing time
Teams are sleeping on Wiseman. I think his contract is an issue. Getting #1 pick money.
Wish Knicks would look at him.
He is getting paid less than the midlevel it’s not a big number. He just isn’t good, I have no idea why you think otherwise.
We all know you have no idea …..
You can’t possibly know if you don’t watch. You can’t possibly know if you don’t have talent vision. And you can’t possibly know if all you see is hate.
Wiseman was traded to Detroit in
2022-23. He played 24 gms started 22 gms. Avg 25.2 mins, shot 54% FG .
Put up 12.7 pts and 8.1 reb. That over 36 mins is 18 pts and 12 reb. This is when he was 21 yrs old. Now this yr (22) he’s down to 12 mins and not playing consistently. There are centers with less numbers playing real mins. If you can’t see this 22 yr old. Only needs mins and coaching. To be a solid contributor. Imo can still be a starter. Then the issue is you not him. Only needs to play and someone to believe in him. Another thing you are not qualified to do.
knickerbockerAI is right. Wiseman needs his first opportunity. He produced when he first arrived in Detroit. Kerr and Monty do not know how to develop Cs. Wiseman needs minutes
Why not Bruce to kings for Lyles, Vezenkov and Donavon Mitchell and a first?
Bruce for Bertans, Jaylin Williams and a 2024 first makes sense too.
I like the Kings trade idea
I’d do either deal but would rather have a future 1st. Too many in 24 which isn’t a great draft year. Also can’t have 4 rookies playing or getting zero minutes.
Toronto needs to trade all the vets it can. Barrett Quickley and Barnes is a good core. Trent would be good in Philly. Schroder to Minny.
If Embiid is out Philly may be a lottery team.3-10 without Embiid
It amazes how many examples there are of teams getting lost in the wilderness when they traded off all their vets. Yet every time a team starts rebuilding that is the number 1 suggestion, trade all the vets!
You should look up what rebuilding means.
In the end I believe Knicks will trade for Brown. Then just wait for everyone to get healthy.
Achiuwa has given good mins. During Randle absence. Glad we got him. Definitely can fill backup PF position.
Word is the deal with raps and knicks are on hold because raps want a 2025 pick and they don’t want anymore 2024 picks. Well look no further than OKC because knicks don’t wanna give up any 2025 picks. Ujiri doesn’t want 3 rookies next season, and I don’t blame him.
Bruce for Bertans, Jaylin Williams and a 2025 pick to be done with it.
