Trade deadline acquisition Bojan Bogdanovic came up big for the Knicks in Game 2 against the Sixers on Monday despite a sore left wrist, Stefan Bondy of the New York Post notes. Bogdanovic, whose $19MM contract for next season is partially guaranteed for $2MM, hit a couple of 3-pointers and added two assists in 12 minutes.
“We had a lot of contributions from different people,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said. “I thought Bogey came in, hit some big shots to start the fourth.”
We have more from the Atlantic Division:
- Knicks wing Donte DiVincenzo was benched in the fourth quarter of Game 1 but he was prominent throughout the second half of Game 2. He wound up playing 37 minutes and hitting the decisive 3-pointer, giving him 19 points for the game. “We practice that every day: dagger 3s and second-chance 3s,” he said, per Peter Botte of the New York Post.
- Jayson Tatum is just fine after Caleb Martin‘s hard foul in Game 1 of the Celtics’ series with the Heat on Sunday. Tatum, who hit the floor hard on that play, practiced in full on Tuesday, The Boston Globe’s Gary Washburn tweets. Game 2 will be played on Wednesday night.
- Sixers forward Nicolas Batum felt that Tyrese Maxey was a “no-brainer” for the Most Improved Player award. Maxey was named the winner on Tuesday. “This is the first award that after 30 games people were like, ‘Maxey’s the Most Improved Player.’ It was pretty much a no-brainer. I’m very happy to see him get it,” Batum told Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer. “He deserves it with the work he puts in, and the way he carried himself this year. I’m just happy for him.” center Paul Reed added, “He deserves it for sure.”
I thought Tyrese Maxey was good last year too. It was just that James Harden was taking up all the minutes. Or better put, Harden just dominated the play too much.
I kinda agree with you on Maxey. Not that he didn’t take a leap this year, and has the look of a perennial All-Star now, but he did put up 20+ a night last year with great shooting splits. Taking the mantle from Black Hole Harden and keeping the team in the upper echelons is great, but I prefer to see this award to a guy who moves into a starting lineup for the first time and proves he is a solid contributor, or who’s minutes drastically increase, and his production outpaces the minutes uptick. I could actually argue that Maxey more deserved this award between his first and second years.
He was the system… He is the system. Maxey Will never be a system by himself
Bogdanovic went to a good team and forgot how to make shots.
Knicks no Randle are not beating anyone without Bogdanovic playing well….. he’s ready. 20 pt scorer his whole career. Big Croatian community in NY. They go nuts for him.
Knicks are coming with brooms…..
So start your crying now ………
Wasaaaahihi waaaaahasassssshaaaaaahmhmhkhm
Hmmhmwwaaaaaaweeewaaaaaaa
NYK are solid, but they will need more from BB to make a deep playoff run. I’m skeptical that he has enough left, but I haven’t given up on it. He doesn’t need to be a star, just give us a shot creator (besides the guards) that we can run at least some offense through.
We need him for these next 2 in PHI in particular. PHI has been playing good defense on Brunson, leveraging their advantage of being given free license by the Refs to knock him around as they see fit, foul free (he spent much of the 4th Qtr on the ground without getting a single FT attempt). That’s only going to get worse as they head into PHI. The league has pretty much telegraphed that in their last two minute officiating report. We need other options.
If Brunson would concentrate more on facilitating than scoring. His opportunities to score will open up. Give me 14 ast. Give me 20 and 15.

Tom Thibodeau is asked about the NBA’s Last 2 Minute report from Game 2:
“I’m more concerned with the 46-minute report…I knew they couldn’t call a foul there.”
Nothing but CryBabies ……. Crying.
Watch the WHOLE last MINUTE…… K
First Maxey pushes his way in. Hart does nothing. Freak are they looking at. Brunson does grab his shirt. But it didn’t help. He held it for literally a sec. He caught the ball no problem. Then he gets doubled. Falls trying to draw a foul. Then Hart steals the ball. Then Embiid lets Hartenstein walk in and grab the rebound. Embiid gets the REBOUND. The Game is OVER …….
Sixers cry cause the bullies from NY stole my game. Waaaa aaaaaaaaaa
What we saw in last minute of gm2. Is one team Wanted it. The other team was trying to survive. On the road you better freakin want it. Stop Crying ….. stores are running out of Kleenex in Philly lols ……
Maxey was near all star level last yr. This award is a lower level type guy with big improvements for me. Jalen Johnson type guy who was deep on the bench to a high level franchise starter type guy.
