The Knicks have ruled out wing Bojan Bogdanovic for Game 5 of their first-round series against the Sixers on Tuesday, Fred Katz and Shams Charania of The Athletic report (Twitter links). Bogdanovic is dealing with a left foot contusion.
Bogdanovic was injured when he collided with Sixers’ forward Nicolas Batum just after entering Game 4 on Sunday. Bogdanovic averaged eight points and four rebounds during the first three games of the series, including a couple of clutch baskets during New York’s Game 2 victory last Monday.
With Bogdanovic departing after one minute of action, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau went with a seven-man rotation for the remainder of the game.
Bogdanovic, who was acquired at the trade deadline from Detroit to bolster the Knicks’ perimeter offense, was already banged up entering the postseason. He has been dealing with a left wrist injury that may require offseason surgery.
Bogdanovic’s future with the team is uncertain. He has a $19MM contract for next season, but only $2MM is guaranteed.
The Knicks will look to close out the series without Bogdanovic on their home court.
Not an advocate for injury, but this doesn’t hurt at all.
So in your mind, he’s out for something that isn’t hurting him. If fact, because you think it doesn’t hurt he should have continue yesterday’s game. Because it doesn’t hurt
I think he means that the injury doesn’t hurt the Knicks, not him personally.
Correct. I thought “not an advocate for injury” would be admission enough.
Classy.
It’s just the truth. It makes no difference for the Knicks chances of winning this series.
He’s too inconsistent with the threes, but extremely consistent with turnovers that are inexcusable and lack of defense, even if he tries.
It won’t matter the Sixers have already given up

One game is no big deal. But if we advance, we’ll need more healthy perimeter players than we have right now. Burks? He’s been unimaginably bad, but maybe you got to give it another try. Milton?
DET trade was supposed to help us in the playoffs at the expense of future, and it’s looking more like a double hit. Law of averages maybe after a series of good personnel moves.
Robinson is a far bigger loss
We might get Mitch back. In that case, we can play a little bigger, with Precious taking Bogie’s spot in the rotation.
Going big isn’t the best way to match the Pacers’ speed… but one could just as easily say their lack of heft isn’t a good way to match up with us.
“At the expense of future” – I’d agree with you if Knicks gave up a first or something comparable, but didn’t really lose anything. Was worth a swing and grimes would’ve been redundant with DDV and McBride , hard to envision Knicks having paid him.
Grimes was on the books for 4.2 mm next year on a RSC. That’s a significant asset. I’d rather have him right now than BB, and certainly next year at that number. So would a trade partner. We also gave up two 2nd round picks, which I agree are not material.
Worth a swing? I agree. But you have to acknowledge the swing missed.
Burks can occasionally catch fire. Most of the time he’s just a low-efficiency chucker who almost never passes, but every once in a while he can make a difference.
Must have been some hot fires, to be over 40% overall from 3 for the last 4 years. While defending, and being another guy who can handle. He hasn’t been that for us this time around, but unless he’s hurt (?) or he lost it on the plane, he should still be capable.
