Free agent center Colin Castleton has joined the Grizzlies on a two-way contract, the team announced (via Twitter).
The 24-year-old was included on the Long Island Nets’ training camp roster that was released over the weekend. The team acquired his returning player rights in a G League trade earlier this month.
Castleton signed a two-way deal with the Lakers last summer after going undrafted out of Florida. He saw limited time in 16 NBA games, but averaged 16.4 points and 10.5 rebounds in 24 G League Showcase Cup and regular season contests with the team’s South Bay affiliate.
Castleton re-signed with L.A. on another two-way deal in July, but he was waived just before the start of the season when the Lakers gave a two-way contract to preseason standout Quincy Olivari.
The signing leaves the Magic as the only NBA team with a two-way slot open. Cam Spencer and Yuki Kawamura are Memphis’ other two-way players.
Kleiman is just trolling the Lakers at this point.
Trade Marcus Smart, Konchar and GG Jackson for Claxton on the Nets or for Ingram or Ayton. If trade for Ingram then sign Moses Brown
The Nets aren’t trading Claxton. They just gave him a four-year extension with the plan to keep him in their rebuild.
He would be great on so many other teams. The Nets should trade him for a good 1st. The Nets are rebuilding. I know they won’t trade him though bro thanks
What do you think of Ingram or Ayton going to Memphis?
Not convinced by either, TBH. The Grizzlies have several good young bigs at this point, so Ayton is not needed while Ingram’s defense and Ingram’s game doesn’t really mesh with Memphis.
And for Claxton, he’d be a better option than Ayton, but again, what Memphis needs right now are wings, specially with the GG, VWJ and Bane injuries.
Jaren Jackson Jr is a horrible rebounder, he sometimes gets only TWO rebounds a game. Edey needs a year to develop and not start. Huff is ruff. Their center position needs one more. I was thinking Moses Brown because he is 7’2 and can rebound in short spurts. With Ingram traded for and Moses Brown signed. That’s Ja, Bane, Jackson, Ingram and Brown all the same age with only one young player on the roster in GG Jackson(trade him for what you need in Ingram). I think Ingram and a C by committee is the best idea. Fill out the roster with veterans and they are good. I do appreciate your insight thanks
Oh yeah sign L Stevens. He had his best season with you last season then you forgot about him
Plus Philip, Marcus Smart at SF is not the answer. Bane is the SG. Ingram is a better choice than Smart at SF
Trade Marcus Smart, Konchar and GG Jackson for Ingram and picks or cash. Sign Moses Brown and L Stevens.
