OCTOBER 16: The Jazz, as expected, have waived Lewis, the team officially announced on Wednesday.
OCTOBER 13: The Jazz have signed forward Justin Lewis, according to a team press release.
It’s an Exhibit 10 contract, so the plan is for Lewis to be waived and then rejoin the Salt Lake City Stars, Andy Larsen of the Salt Lake City Tribune tweets.
Lewis appeared in 29 NBA G League regular season games during the 2023/24 season for the Stars, averaging 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 14.3 minutes per contest. Lewis previously spent portions of the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons on a two-way contract with the Bulls. Chicago waived him in December.
The Baltimore native played two collegiate seasons at Marquette (2020-22).
Lewis will be eligible of a bonus worth up to $77.5K if he spends at least 60 days with the Stars.
Some of these guys just need an opportunity. Still need more teams in the NBA though.
Yea imo only 2 extra teams isn’t enough. It may be a good idea for nba to launch a new USA league with only like 6 teams that plays in the offseason like the xfl just for the best of the best free agents and pays more than the g league. Idk how that would all work tho
They used to have the ABA and NBA but I doubt they’d want to do something like that again.
They do have several cities already in mind for expansion. I just hope they don’t do a Euro team. Travel would be too long.
The ABA and NBA were not officiated with each other until the merger and the NBA bought them out with some teams today, San Antonio, Indiana, Denver etc etc . The 3pt shot and dunk contest with some stars came to the NBA. Mikan was the 1st president for the ABA. The NBA and ABA were fighting to get Lew Alcinder aka Kareem
We just need to bring back fundamentals, dribbling, real defense, competitive attitudes, no flopping, hand check rule, less techs for silly stuff, etc etc etc etc etc bring back the PF and C. No need for every USA basketball game anywhere were you have to switch. All robots. Watch each other shoot 3s. Weakest era ever
