“I just want a job in the NBA,” he said. “Like, it’s the only thing I’ve wanted since I was like 5 years old, and my dad always said my biggest gift is my energy. Energy can never be created or destroyed, only transferred. So I bring energy to whatever team wants me, and I bring every group up.”
There’s more from the Pacific Division:
- Friday also marked the best preseason showing for second-round pick Bronny James, who posted 17 points, four rebounds, three steals and a block, McMenamin adds. He points out that James also got off to a slow start in Summer League, but improved as he saw more game action. “[It gives me] just a little bit of confidence going into the season even though I might not be in that rotation, might not be playing, but just going into practice, maybe G League games with that confidence in myself to go out there and play my game,” James said.
- At Thursday’s practice, Curry aggravated a finger injury he suffered last week, but he’s expected to be ready when the Warriors begin their season Wednesday at Portland, per Sam Gordon of The San Francisco Chronicle. Coach Steve Kerr had hoped to get some clarity about his starting and closing lineups on Friday, but he suggested he may try several combinations early in the season. “I suppose both could change. I suppose both could change from one night to the next,” Kerr said. “I’d like to get a consistent starting five — and a consistent closing five. But it has to reveal itself.”
- There’s some concern in Sacramento after the Kings wrapped up their first winless preseason in 33 years, observes Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee. One positive is Jordan McLaughlin, who seems to be fully recovered from an ankle sprain earlier in the preseason. “I feel solid,” said McLaughlin, who joined the team in free agency this summer after five years in Minnesota. “I’m still getting my legs back and getting my wind back from being hurt, but so far, so good, and I’m just looking forward to growing in this system.”

Let the nepotism commence!
The dubs are now elite . Preseason champions.
and just like in 2021-22 – regular season too!
He is so lost on the defensive end. Fell asleep multiple times and lost his man while watching the game instead of playing. He will improve but he has a ways to go.
Jeez…Davey J goes on-and-on for months about how the Warriors should trade for Bronny James, now he is whining about nepotism. What a piece of work. Nothing wrong with the numbers he put up.
Giants,
You know he’s only going on like this now as he’s upset the Warriors didn’t get Bronny thinking that if they had, LBJ would demand a trade to GSW. It’s always fun to pick on a kid when you don’t get what you want from his dad, eh Davey!
ESPN making a 8 part documentary on Bronny dropping 17 in a walk through soon. Colin Cowherd, Nick Wright, Rich Paul and of course Bron all on board. Guest appearances from LBJ’s guys CP3, Melo, Wade etc…..sounds like a hit to me. Let’s call it the first dance.
I’m loving the bronny statements you’ve been dropping. I’d roast him as well but I can’t think of anything that hasn’t been said already.
I thought you have been humiliated enough by me. Why are you still here?
Right… So the Lakers played their G-Leaguers… Hence the score
Yes that’s right. In the preseason different teams are working on different things. Nobody really cares about the scores but rather the different expected executions.
Lakers I guess working on the back end of the roster whereas the Warriors are still trying to figure out which combinations of their big league roster works together.
I love that the season starts Tuesday !! Let’s go !! Can’t wait to see how things stand after the first month. Who are the pretenders and who are the contenders?
My fingers are crossed that the Warriors can hang tough and maybe get a six seed in the West. Things have to be almost perfect for that to happen but perfect has happened before.

Gary, 6 seed was my thinking 4 weeks ago, but I think higher now, probably 5 and maybe 4, because:
1. Division looks weaker:
– Phoenix & Denver have VERY short benches, with injury prone stars. Last year, both teams were lucky with injuries. Odds are 1 of them isn’t this year.
– Pels roster is badly flawed, starting Herb Jones at C. I had thought it was their year, but no more.
2. Dubs pre-season has exceeded all expectations.
– the 4 young players are improving steadily.
– strongest bench in West, we survive minor injuries to Steph & Dray
Didn’t make a lot of sense the lineup JJ threw out there. I can see giving AD and LeBron rest and those who played over 30 minutes in the previous game but why not throw your entire 2nd team out there to get used to playing together? The bench looks real weak. JJ is showing he is a 1st year coach by playing to many minutes of the regulars in preseason and not the bench players who need it more.
You better be good at basketball Quincy because it appears you know nothing about science. Energy can very much be created and destroyed.
Lmao I think you need to do a little research, because you are incorrect.
Maybe he’s speaking on his own energy
It seems that Bronny is being realistic about his situation. That he has a lot to learn and will probably have to spend a lot of time in the G-League.
It would be nice if the media was similarly realistic and didn’t analyze every fart he lets out as a great sign and something to write an article about.
Agreed,
I am no LeBron fan, but I hope Bronny succeeds. He didn’t ask for all the media attention, nor did he ask for the expectations. He just needs to continue to be himself, stay as humble as is possible, and work on his game.
Yeah, I feel a bit bad for him to be honest. All the jokes about him are because he’s LeBron’s son, because of LeBron’s stupid statements (“Bronny could play on this team” or something like that last season) and the media hype from ESPN and others.
But I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything boastful or bragging or anything like that from Bronny himself. He seems like a nice kid.
More than anything its the NBA that is trying to create him as a huge story. Most people are tired of hearing about Bronny. He will play in the first game next to his dad at some point but then sent down to the G league to learn to play. NBA only cares about marketing a product.
I’m only interested in Bronny because the Lakers have one of the worst overall rosters in the West and will be bottom 4 around the trade deadline, at that point GSW can do another multi-teamer and turn Wiggins and Podz into Lebron and Bronny, and everyone chips, then Bronny’s career can fizzle out and he can retire whenever he wants with a ring he won with his dad and he can get a nepo media job. Or maybe he can ball a bit and GSW might be able to win even more rings here.
I wouldn’t say bottom 4 because of injuries last year. they need to stay healthy because if AD goes down the team will sink to the bottom.
Part of the reason it’s a bottom 4 roster as you say, is LeBron acting as GM and having his kid on the team.
“one of the worst overall rosters in the West”
Boy, do I have some Spurs, Jazz, Blazers, Clippers, and Rockets for you. Wemby makes the Spurs the only one even remotely debatable on that front, but they have next to nothing around him aside from the highlight reel of CP3 tossing him lobs and future potential.
Warriors fan here but lots of respect for Quincy Olivari and his basketball skills, positive outlook and emotional maturity – best of luck Quincy!
He cried with joy when he met Steph…that’s a good one!
Davey J,
I want to “reply” to you, but the button is missing. Are you sure you’re not blocking me in your settings?
