Warriors forward Draymond Green was a huge factor in Tuesday’s in over Milwaukee, racking up 10 defensive rebounds, four blocks, and two steals while serving as the primary defender on Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored just 20 points on 5-of-16 shooting.
After Golden State’s victory, Green told reporters, including Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, that he believes he’s making a strong case for Defensive Player of the Year consideration.
“Obviously, if we keep winning and close this year out strong, most definitely,” Green said. “I look around the league and don’t see many players impacting the game on the defensive end the way I do. I don’t see many players completely throwing off an entire team’s offense the way I do. One thousand percent.
“Especially with Wemby (Victor Wembanyama) going down, seemed like he had it won. And now it is right there. So, one million percent I have a case, and I will continue to build that case for these next 13 games. Tonight was a prime example of that.”
The Bucks’ 93 points on Tuesday represented a season low for the team, Youngmisuk writes, while Antetokounmpo had his worst shooting night in over two years. According to NBA.com’s tracking data, Giannis made 0-of-7 field goal attempts when Green was his primary defender, prompting head coach Steve Kerr to refer to the forward’s performance as “incredible.”
“To hold him to five field goals, Draymond showed why he is still one of the great defenders in the world,” Kerr said. “It wasn’t just the defense; it was the leadership, the energy.”
As Green pointed out, the Defensive Player of the Year race looks wide open following Wembanyama’s season-ending injury. Evan Mobley, Dyson Daniels, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Luguentz Dort are among the frontrunners, but none of those candidates have gained the same sort of narrative momentum Wembanyama had (though betting odds favor Mobley).
Green doesn’t rank among the league’s top 20 in defensive categories like steals (1.4) or blocks (1.1) per contest, but he made it clear on Tuesday he believes his impact on a game goes far beyond box-score numbers.
“You got some people that have a vote on the East Coast that probably see us play four times a year,” Green said. “And if you look at the stats, you be like, ‘Oh, Draymond averages one steal and a block.’ Those numbers don’t jump off the page at you. But you watch me play and then ask the opposing coach what did I do to (their) offense? It’s a different story.
“This award is widely based off statistics, and those statistics don’t always tell the story … But I want another one, and I ain’t retired yet. I still got a chance.”
In order to ensure he qualifies for award consideration, Green will have to play 20-plus minutes in at least 11 of the Warriors’ 13 remaining regular season games.
I’m sure Dyson Daniels believes he has a strong case to win DPOY but it’s hard to imagine any articles being written about it (especially since he wasn’t even considered a frontrunner for the award on this site until recently). Youngster has been the most dominant defensive player in the league all season long & he was just as dominant last night. Happy 22nd birthday to him as well. He’ll be winning this award numerous times in the next decade or so.
We have a Daniels story coming later today!
Green dominated Giannis last night. made him a non-factor in the game. Blocked so many shots.
Draymond is the best defensive player in the nba after February 8
Before that day, he is a lazy defender
Nature of tiger is sleeping 16 hours a day
Draymond is a sleepy tiger
Next up you pretend LeBron plays defense while he is at top of the key hoping for a easy basket if a Laker play gets a rebound.
“…considered a frontrunner for the award on this site…”
The site is referencing betting odds from independent companies (which are a reflection of public consensus), not their personal opinions
If i hear another player claim they are the greatest of all time is a personal opinion same as claiming you are the king and pretend putting on a crown.
I meant the opinions of the website writers, not Green
Green only mentioned his name should be mentioned but of course the sport writer have nothing else to write about makes it news no different than the GOAT debate its just filler time on sport news shows.
I wasn’t even talking about Green. I was talking about the original comment, which referenced Dyson Daniels
I think the DPOY has too much bias in the voting. Taller players that block shots have a huge advantage over smaller players that must guard faster and better shooters. I am more impressed when a player can stop the best offensive player on the court. No disrespect to Wemby because he is the best in the league but Gobert I would not rank in the top 3.
Bigs have a much bigger defensive impact than point-of-attack or wing defenders. Small-ball doesn’t change that, even though wing defenders are more valuable than they used to be. There is no wing defender or point-of-attack defender that has remotely close to the defensive impact of the best bigs in a given year.
The last player to win a DPOY for guarding the ball was Gary Payton in 1996. Every other DPOY winner has been either, one, a big or, two, a versatile defender that can guard 4 or more positions (like Draymond or Kahwi or Marcus Smart).
common @aristotle W take
do you dream about lebron james in your sleep as well? because he wasn’t mentioned anywhere in this article, except your two comments.
I think you mean its the concensus of the oddsmakers. You can bet on the DPOY award.. in a number of places, and, at least today, they are all in agreement on the rankings.
link to foxsports.com
Well, yes, but how do you think the oddsmakers determine those odds? Presumably on the basis of predictions on how people will bet
wagner, that’s exactly right. The odds reflect the information the oddsmakers gather with significant cost and time. The oddsmakers make money (and don’t go broke) only if their odds are, on the whole, accurate.
They move based on betting by the public. If a lot of people bet for a certain player they get better odds of winning and a worse payout for the bet.
Chap, That’s partly true. Public betting is only part of how odds get set.
All sportbooks futures betting is for a fixed time interval and must *start* with a ranking that is not determined by public betting.
After, futures odds move not only on the basis of public betting, but also on info that the sports books obtain before that info influences public betting, such as injuries.
The casinos are very good at setting lines, but you always get a Laker bias and what have you from the public. I never pay much attention to the ins and outs of the sports books being in CA where you cant do anything but DFS, which is kinda mediocre for NBA.
Chap, No DFS for me. I live in CA but place all my bets in NV at wide intervals, esp on NBA and NFL championship futures.
There’s no escaping the Lakers effect in our part of the world :–(
@ wagner13
Wrong. They use analytics on the teams’ histories to set the initial odds and then move to adjust to the betting volume to try to equalize it.
Sankara, DPOY’s go to bigs. History says the odds of Dyson Daniels ever winning are tiny. The last time somebody like Daniels won was 1996. Here’s why:
Daniels, like all great on-ball or wing defenders, are rarely recognized because they don’t impact a game as much as the bigs that defend the basket. Bigs like Gobert, Wemby, Jaron Jackson, Giannis, and, soon, Chet Holmgren will continue to be the heavy favorites for DPOY.
There’s another category of defender that occassionally wins, call them “versatile team defenders”. They guard at least 4 positions, play high-IQ team defense, and make plays all over the floor. See Draymond Green, (in his prime) Marcus Smart and (in his prime) Kahwi Leonard. All 3 of those guys can strap a PG. Draymond and prime-Kahwi could guard 5 positions. You probably need to weigh at least 220 pounds to do this.
Every year, we see a couple of new great on-ball/wing defenders — Dyson Daniels, Ausar and Amen Thompson, Mathisse Thybulle, etc. Unless or until they move into the “versatile team defender” category (which looks like a possibility with the Thompson twins), they’ll never win a DPOY.
Daniels is a superb technician that enables him to make a case as the best on-ball defender, but, so far as I’ve seen, he’s not in the ‘versatile, team defender” category, one reason being his smaller frame. The Thompson twins will continue to draw more interest than Daniels because of their superior size and athleticism.
Finally, right or wrong, it’s difficult to win DPOY if you’re an under-average offensive player. That keeps Daniels out of the news.
He has a better case than Dra ……
Jimmy don’t come. We don’t hear from Draymond.
Keep in mind, we’re not discussing who *deserves* the DPOY award more, but who gets the *real votes*.
The oddsmakers say Evan Mobley leads with 67% chance, Draymond is second at 12%, and Daniels is 3rd at 8%.
link to foxsports.com
Looking over the changes in the odds for the past 2 months, we see that Green was ahead of Dyson on the day Butler became a Warrior. Both Geen and Dyson have moved up since, jumping, among others, Jarron Jackson Jr.
Looking over the DPOY odds for the past 5 years, no player of Dyson Daniel’s profile (on-ball and point of attack defender), has ever been given more than a 12% chance of winning a DPOY. The odds always heavily favor the bigs.
Is Daniels really that good a defender, or does he just get a lot of steals? Steals aren’t the only factor of defense. Spacing and rebounds and blocks need to be assessed too.
Also Daniels plays on a bad team in low stress games. Draymond is on the opposite side of that.
DaveyJ , Dyson is a highly skilled and smart on-ball defender. But, IMO, the media has indeed fixated on his steals because it’s something they understand.
He’s very good, but there are at least 5-7 on-ball/wing defenders I’d take ahead of him at this point in his career (he’s in only his 3rd year) because they’re more complete defenders.
He’s not as good an all-around defender as Caruso, Ausar and Amen Thompson (both in their 2nd year), Dort, Anunoby, Suggs or Kris Dunn, to name a few.
Still, the odds of any of these guys ever winning a DPOY is very small.
Defense really is the thing you just have to see. I agree with other chatter in here who said Dray played so bad for like 2 months, then he woke up before Jimmy got here and started playing like 2015, and then we got Jimmy, and things got even better. But if we are going “being good the whole season” Draymond can only be #2 here. If GSW never loses a game from here on out and Dray plays in all of them, that -might- be able to get him close.
But more on the “intangible” thing: for example, if Draymond is in an opps head, it destroys their confidence to the point where an offensive focal point sometimes will get fed up and not even engage on every play, we often see Dray and his man just standing in the corner a lot while the other guys play 4 on 4 – stuff like that there’s no stat for, but Dray making star-level players play bad is a thing that’s happened so many times in the past that it cannot be ignored. Plus there’s the whole “point-center-forward” thing.
Great point about the psychological Iimpact of Draymond’s defense. Draymond’s reputation precedes him. Every player, including the opposition, is aware of it. That raises the confidence of the Warriors’ team.
Draymond, like MJ and Gary Payton Sr, shows up biggest against the league’s best in the biggest games to do the impossible. Yesterday,Giannis was limited to his worst performance of the season, but we’ve seen Draymond do the same to Jokic, AD, KAT, Sengun, Blake Griffin, etc
Like you say, if you haven’t seen it live, you can’t appreciate the full effect of Draymond’s defensive force.
This is even a story, it’s just a comment he made.
We need Greymond Dream to concentrate on a championship this year, not individual awards at 35 years old.
I’m not accusing him of being selfish because I don’t think he is, but just my two cents is when he’s being interviewed on this subject, sweep it under the rug and mention that if it happens, it happens. If not, who gives a rats behind?
An individual award is not going to help his next contract and increase his salary, so who gives a flip?
Rings not things.
Gary, if he was talking about a scoring title then yes I agree with you. That would be a kinda selfish goal which might not help your teams overall performance. But if you are the Dpoy, then that means you’ve contributed unselfishly and greatly helped your teams performance. So I’m saying that the more he strives to win DPOY, then the more his team succeeds. I hope he continues to seek the DPOY award for the reason I gave. I’m thinking you’d agree?
I agree.
He knows that they wont be able to take their foot off the gas because the west is too tight so every game matters.
While it’s unlikely, it’s not completely impossible I suppose. My guess is it will go elsewhere, given how he wasn’t having a big impact until the Butler trade.
Draymond has a point, and he respects Wemby being better.
Give him DPOY and Steph MVP.
I hear people say OG. Dyson Daniels and Wemby fills up the stats. Draymond might have a chance. Maybe someone can give me another good DPY candidate I’m just curious to hear some names
Jaren Jackson …. Mobley.
Greymond touches on the Tony Gwynn syndrome, which is a very real thing and has been for a very long time.
I’m on the east coast and the Warriors game starts at 10:15 pm and if I’m up at 6, it sure makes it rough the next day. Things get groggy around mid afternoon, but I know how to play hurt at the office.
“‘You got some people that have a vote on the East Coast that probably see us play four times a year,’ Green said.”
As if half of the Warriors’ games aren’t on national television…
How many of the voters actually watch Warriors games? The number is definitely small.
Definitely? Surely you have evidence to back up such a lofty claim
Do you have evidence that they are watching?
The onus is on you to provide evidence, since you made the declarative claim
You are right. I don’t have the numbers to back up my claim. But, TV viewership is not at same level at midnight or 1am, when Warrior’s games is played, as it is at 7pm. So, it pretty logical to the numbers go down.
Boss…. The top 2 teams for nationally televised games are the Lakers and the Warriors. How on earth have you come to the conclusion that people who have votes don’t watch west coast teams?
let me fix that for you how many people on the east coast go to sleep before tip off of west coast games. Its been like that in any sport. The east coast players have a big advantage being seen prime time. Can’t blame east coast NBA fans because a game comes on sometimes at almost 11 pm there.
the fact that curry has multiple mvps, draymond has a dpoy, they have all star games and all nba selections, all while with the warriors strongly suggests voters watch Warriors games. Lets stop acting like they’re the Charlotte Hornets or even the Kings. Warriors games get eyes
Still on national television at 10pm local time mostly. Not all BBall writers stay up till midnight watching hoop.
Yeah, because the real answer is “Lebron sickked his media attack dogs on the Warriors in the 2015-2020 era and they all got way less awards because of it”.
There was literally no reason for Harden or Westbrook to win MVP, neither of them were that valuable to their teams, and the teams weren’t that good to begin with. GSW had also every game over by the 3rd quarter in that era, so Curry and KD sat entire quarters more than any superstar ever has, suppressing their numbers. But the writers were so mad at KD for going to GSW, they refused to vote for either Steph or KD. Just a ridiculous take for supposed professional writers to take.
How does he think he can win not even being top 20 in either of the defensive stats? 1 good defensive game doesn’t win the award for the whole season.
That was answered in the article. Try reading it.
What defensive stats are you counting? DPOY isnt a counting stat award. Draymond is a guy who goes beyond stats, always has been. Watch him and try and tell anyone he isn’t elite defensively, you will get stuff thrown at you.
Steals and blocks the stats that the DPOY winner is a leader of every single season.
^ that’s untrue. Marcus Smart.
He averaged 1.7 steals and 0.3 blocks that year and was part of the leagues best defense.
“Steals and blocks the stats that the DPOY winner is a leader of every single season.” is not a true statement. Please stop saying it.
Absurd.
Gobert won DPOY 4 times and never led the league in either steals or blocks.
Gobert led the league in blocks in 2017.
This discussion points to why Dyson Daniels is getting attention: steals are a convenient way for the uninformed to measure defense. There’s an increasing number of defensive counting stats available, like deflections and charges taken. But, they don’t give a complete picture.
The best NFL cornerbacks never get targeted, so their counting stats aren’t meaningful. The same has been true of Kahwi, Draymond, and Jrue Holliday. If you don’t watch the games or understand defense, you’ll miss their impact.
He’s tied at 21st in blocks/gm at 1.1 and tied for 16th in steals/gm at 1.4.
(Leading the narrative candidate Mobley is tied for 7th in bpg and tied for 81st in spg).
Just saying…
;-)
Its the same with his belief of a championship, close to zero.
Oh, the playoffs are a month away. You know who won the Finals, which are over two months from now? Might as well cancel all the upcoming games. Since you called it, there is no reason to play anymore. Are you going to go on record with who the winner is?
Your man Draymond went on record, go confirm with him who won the Finals and who the winner is. Im just sharing my opinion here.
Oh and before I forget, Warriors havent beaten a contender (Okc, Cavs or Boston) with Butler on the team so the jury is out whether they are actually “great”
They lost to a Jokic-less and Murray-less Nuggets which looks bad as they may have gassed out Curry. Ill give credit for winning against the Bucks without Curry but then again, it is a Doc Rivers coached team so theres that.
You said you know who will win the Finals. Who is it? Until then, the Warriors have just as much chance at winning as any other team in the playoffs.
Your reading comprehension is showing. I never said who will win, I said it is close to zero. You, Davey and aristotle need to have your head and eyes checked as you are seeing things that are not there and/or fictional. Must be a common case for delusional Warriors bandwaggon.
You keep criticizing Draymond for saying that the Warriors can win the Finals this year. He been there 6 times and won 4. So, he knows what it takes. In 22, the Warriors were no where near being contenders. The FO openly said they didn’t have what it takes. God knows they didn’t play like it all season. But, they still won. In 74, they weren’t considered contenders, but won. So, how is it delusional to believe in something that happened in the past. History does repeat itself.
Since you have not been watching GSW games Curry been injured the last week with a back injury. He has been off lately. It wasn’t because of being tired. He should have never played in the Nuggets game.
Thanks for correcting me in such a manner arc89. I rarely watch Warriors games due to its time. Hope he gets better as its no fun watching teams that are not at full strength.
Another factor that most warriors fans did not know that there was a big party the night before for Curry’s BD party. Green, Butler, and Curry was drinking late into the night. Something a 37 Y O NBA player can’t recover from the next day.
Actually, the Warriors have beaten OKC and Boston.
The Nuggets Head Coach said that, if they don’t start playing better defense, they won’t go very far. The Warriors are a better defensive team since Butler came on board.
Again reading comprehension failures by Giants74. Warriors have not beaten OKC and Boston with Butler on the team. Stop your selective reading and read everything or is reading too hard for old people?
Same as saying the Clippers or Lakers never beaten the warriors with Butler on the team.
You are changing the goalposts…The Warriors have been playing better defense and scoring more since Butler arrived. So, they should be able to beat OKC and Boston. Being older means you have a bit more knowledge about what you are talking about.
Changing goal posts? Thats what you have Davey J for.
Lets see whether they actually can and whether or not that will even happen. Regular season performance so far indicate they cant. See losses to the Embiid less 76ers and Murray & Jokic less Nuggets.
They’re 2-1 vs OKC and 1-1 vs the Celtics.
Are you saying you think Butler has made them worse?
Warriors last 15 games has not been againsts the contenders in the league and people has been crowning them as the best team in the league with an incoming 5th ring. The only contenders are OKC (best in the west), Cavs (best in the east) and Celtics (NBA champs). The Dubs have not yet played against those 3 with Butlet in the lineup so we cant see yet whether Dubs are really good or have a chance. Denver is very close to this group and the Warriors lost to a Jokic and Murray less Nuggets squad. Losing as well to an Embiid less 76ers.
Surely, majority of the Warriors posters here are easily triggered if you present facts to them, see Davey J, aristotle and Giants74.
Single game reg season results don’t prove the level of a team in the playoffs. That same Jokic and Murray less Nuggets team got destroyed by the clippers who are now on a 4 game win streak.
I disagree that there are only 3 contenders. With the parity in the west this season, any of the top 8 teams could end up in the Finals. All it would take is a 1st rd upset for OKC to fall and then the West could be anyone’s to win.
When coaches have time to game plan and adjust to 1 opponent for 7 games, it’s completely different. And the amount of games a team has to play before the finals impacts the level of fatigue in the Finals.
@NBA is OK. I agree on what you said. This thread only got this long as there is a butthurt Warrior Fan that has selective reading and can only accept to read the good things about the dubs and not the bad ones and will then retort to attacking the poster.
Well, 10 rebounds. Hmm. And my conversation from yesterday was deleted for some reason. For getting too close to the truth? Momentus. Look it up people.
Lil D , I was intrigued by your mention of Momentus and looked into it on the Web. I couldn’t see the relevance of the company to basketball, nor could I find any mention of Joe Lacob or the Warriors, as (I thought) you indicated. Maybe you could explain more?
Obviously he uses a pseudonym to protect investments that would implicate him in a scandal. So I doubt you’ll find his name mentioned, unless those people come for him start turning the screws. Then theres no limit to the depravity that might be uncovered…
Momentus uses water-based propulsion tech. There’s a lot of water in sweat, and a lot of sweat in the game of basketball. Something to think on.
> theres no limit to the depravity that might be uncovered
This is much more interesting than anything related to the NBA.
Where can I learn more?
Hot air…
Nothing but hot air…
He isn’t even the best defender on his own team…
I was all set to say that even though I am a Hawks fan and Daniels has been lights out that Green has been on a roll lately and deserves consideration despite his poor court attitude, missing games, and not playing up to his standards the first half of the season …. but then I saw this ‘victim card’ nonsense ….
““You got some people that have a vote on the East Coast that probably see us play four times a year”
I get so sick of this West Coast whine. Because he is already playing the victim card I hope he doesn’t win it now. There are plenty of West Coast voters who might still be working, be out at dinner, wrangling the kids to bed, only watching national broadcasts. or who knows what else that probably cause them to watch fewer East Coast games than West Coast, yet you never hear the whine coming from the other side of the country. NEVER. Come on Draymond, just stop.
now that is funny I hear whine come from all parts of the country.
“There are plenty of West Coast voters who might still be working…” A West Coast voters job is to watch games. So, it is easier to watch a game that starts at 4pm PST and 7pm PST, than a game that starts at 10pm EST. ESPN used to not even publish boxscores until the next day.
So it’s not an East Coast voters job to also watch games whenever they are played???
Its easier now but if the game comes on at 11 pm east coast time they record. If they see the score and its a blow out they probably only watch the high lights. If they watch the game they probably fast forward through much of the game.
The voters are generally the team beat writers. So, I doubt the Hawks beat writer is paid to watch Warriors games. They are covering the Hawks while the Warriors are playing. On the other hand, a Warriors beat writer can watch a most of a Hawks game before the have to do their job.
So only west coast best writers are supposed to watch every other teams games, but the east coast beat writers don’t have that in their job description?
Makes total sense
Beat writers generally are paid to cover a specific team. It doesn’t mean they don’t watch west coast games. But, I doubt many of them stay up late to watch other teams.
not speaking for anyone else but I’m in the Central zone with all my allegiances to west coast teams. It’s definitely harder for me to watch/pay attention/and finish games that start at 9:30 pm, although I try my hardest. Certainly am glad when my teams are on the road.
UGA_Steve , if “UGA” stands for University of Georgia, I’ll assume you’re familiar with NCAA football & basketball. It all comes down to economics. The West Coast teams have a smaller audience, and that’s why West Coast teams and players at the college level suffer with awards and bowl selections. At the root, it’s why the PAC-12 is gone, and those teams are, basically, in East Coast conferences now.
Only 16% of the US population lives in the West Coast time zone, 3% lives in the Mountain, 70% lives in the same time zone as the SEC conference. The *value* of West Coast players and teams to the national media is lower because the size of their home audience will always be smaller.
So, economically, media is less motivated to cover West Coast teams and players because fewer fans are interested, and not just because of the 3 hour difference.
Butler is amazing. It’s a must watch game every time he play. He never ever disappoints. Still the top 10 player in the game! So much better than a guy like Dame. He still can carry a team. The best trade !! Go Warriors!!!!
Sullivan is a big LeBron fan so giving him a taste of his own bitterness.
Before Jimmy Warriors were yesterdays news. Now there is hope. Only fantasy fanboys see a playoff run. Draymond was nowhere to be seen in DPOY.
Imo he’s not top 4.
link to foxsports.com
So who is your top 4?
Jackson, Mobley, Dyson, SGA, OG, Draymond
Jackson may have missed too many games this year to win but I will not disagree with your list.
He barely makes the top ten…
Wemby is a far bigger deterrent on defence…
Defence is becoming cool again…
did you miss the part where Green said now that Wemby is not in the talk.
There are FanBoys. Then there are real fans. Intelligence is not for The Weak ……
On Feb 20 of this year after Wemby went down. Draymond was nowhere to be seen ……. OK
Not a knock on him. One of most important Warriors player ever. But not deserving this year. Please
link to bleachernation.com
He is a “has been”. He “was” a great defender. Like their championship hopes this year, it is close to zero. Ill give them a lightning in a bottle chance.
If Warriors didn’t start winning with Jimmy. We never have this conversation lol .
They lost to Denver without their 2 All stars whilst they had their “big 3″…
Nuff said…
Lol, did you forget that Denver doesn’t have 2 allstars?
Your memory is failing fast.
Too many delusional Warriors bandwaggon who keeps on talking and have low reading comprehension or has selective reading (Davey J, aristotle, Giants74)
I’ve been following the Warriors for 50 years. I know when they suck. How does that make me delusional?
Right on cue Giants74, thank you.
Everybody, please see exhibit number 1 for selective reading of Giants74
There’s a long list of them…
Then there’s a number of them who do read but go off the deep end trying to paint the OP as a crazy person or idiot whilst tarring themselves in that very paint…
link to foxsports.com
Draymond is #2 right now… a distant #2, which indicates he has little chance unless Mobley fades. Draymond is rising only because GSW is winning and he is not missing games. He’s not playing better defense because of Butler.
You can’t make an argument that Draymond should NOT win unless you also say WHO SHOULD WIN. The odds are always most dependent on W-L and/or availability.
– Wemby wins if he stayed healthy.
– Jackson took over for a while when Wemby went down.
– Mobley passed Jackson when Jackson went down.
My opinion: Mobley should and will win it. Only a Mobley injury could open the door for Draymond.
Keep on dreaming Draymond… its not because you are good at punching people and have a bad attitude you deserve to be DPOY.
He’s not even the best on his team…
Just looking to get more clicks on his podcast…
Explain “bad attitude” – never heard that before, it seems racist against Black people tbh. All his teammates love him and what he does to win. He’s very much a “Michigan” 1980s-style player. Everyone who hates him hypocritically loves the Laimbeer Pistons, its so lame.
You can be mad at him for swinging his arms around, but that’s all part and parcel of his game – he pushes the limits and does everything he can to own opponents mentally – he wants to and does anything to get under opponents skin, so he can win games and he has 4 rings and counting from this method.
I do have to wonder if Jimmy thinks Jimmy deserves DPOY…
Should be interesting to see how the ego Days of our Lives Warriors arc goes…
