The Warriors received some promising news on Friday, as Stephen Curry‘s MRI confirmed a pelvic contusion but revealed no structural damage, the team announced in a press release (Twitter link).
Curry, who sustained the injury after a hard fall in the third quarter of Thursday’s game vs. Toronto, won’t travel to Atlanta and will miss Saturday’s game against the Hawks. He will be reevaluated on Monday, per the Warriors.
Shams Charania of ESPN first reported (via Twitter) the update on Curry, which was later confirmed by Anthony Slater of The Athletic (Twitter link).
Saturday’s matchup in Atlanta is the start of the six-game road trip for the Warriors. As Slater notes, the second game of the trip will be on Tuesday in Miami — it’s the first matchup between the Warriors and Heat after last month’s blockbuster trade of Jimmy Butler.
Butler struggled with his shot (4-of-15 from the field) on Thursday, but he still recorded a triple-double (16 points, 12 assists, 11 rebounds) and had a clutch block late in the fourth quarter. After the game, he said the Warriors will need to play “perfect basketball” without Curry, according to Slater (Twitter video link).
“We can’t afford to turn the ball over. We can’t afford to foul. Because we don’t have the one individual who can automatically get us back into the game,” Butler said.
The Warriors have surged up the standings since they acquired Butler, currently holding a 41-29 record, good for the No. 6 seed in the West. However, they’re only 1.5 games ahead of the Clippers and Timberwolves in the race to secure an automatic playoff berth, so each of their 12 remaining games will be critical if they want to avoid the play-in tournament this spring.
So once he can comfortably sit on it he can play. Just needs to make a 4hr plane flight first.
Unfortunately for Steph the only one who can comfortably “sit on it” is Potsie.
“Welp, might as well call it a career” – people who let their hate of Curry cloud their analysis. Shut alllll the way up, lol
Exactly who is saying he should call it career?
You have to admit. There is something rather ironic about Davey and “clouded analysis”.
His imaginary enemies in his head
This honestly feels like a sign of some scary schizophrenia or deep seated paranoia happening.
@Darkghost
@Luke 207 did in the prior GSW thread.
Even @c-daddy is projecting and lying right under this very comment!!
I just went and looked and no he didn’t say Steph should call it a career. He said the warriors should be looking for an heir apartment to take his place. While I disagree with him because I don’t think there is an heir apparent in the whole league to Steph and there very rarely is for most of the all time top players. Him saying the warriors need to have a plan for when 37 year old Steph is playing less and eventually retires is not saying might as well call it a career today.
If you read ALL his posts, that’s what he is always pushing towards.
Steph has literally said he wants to play til 50. Obviously he can’t be a starter as he gets that old, but later career “bench sharpshooter” Kyle Korver is a nice example of what 45+ year old Curry would look like.
Kareem won a title as a starter at 40 and lost a Finals at 41 as a starter, the GOATs can play til they can’t and literally nothing Curry has had happen to him would affect his game that much to retire early. It’s just cope, the Warriors are going to be good for a long time still, the window is wiiiiide open….
FankenStein just ruined another Curry doll ….
If you bang that bone hard enough. It could be a couple of games. Good to see it isn’t serious.
What’s interesting to me. Is who would Warriors want in 1st rd. As of now 2- 6 not really set. 12 gms to go.
Would it really matter who they played? The Warriors biggest obstacle this season has been themselves. They have to play their game to win. Worrying about who their opponent is, is an immediate exit.
Yes, it matters. OKC would crush them easily for example.
The Warriors have already beaten OKC and the Celtics. I don’t know where you get this idea they would be crushed.
Their worst games have been when they turn the ball over, don’t get to line and make those shots.
It’s not me that thinks they’ll be crushed against OKC, it’s pretty much everyone that isn’t a GS fan.

Where did you get the idea they won’t get crushed? Obviously winning a regular season game doesn’t mean much,
@GhostofThomasHamilton
Youre dealing with a die hard Warriors fan who wont take anything negative against their team. Giants74 and aristotle share the same rose colored glasses no matter what the reality is for the Warriors.
Rockets or Memphis. Only because those 2 teams never won a 7 game playoff series. So experience is the factor over those 2 teams. lakers only if they have home court advantage. Lakers get too many home town foul calls. Nuggets have warriors number. OKC would be tough how athletic they are.
This is honestly a pretty devastating injury. I bruised my tailbone pretty badly playing hockey a few years ago and could barely walk for a week or two after. It probably took six weeks to heal completely.
He hurt his tailbone in ’21 … Slater wrote that he missed 5 games last time from that injury.
@c-daddy “devastating” lmaooooo
Ayesha gotta take it easy on ol’ boy
Did you not watch him go from being fine in the game, then fall on it? Do you not even watch basketball??
Basketball? Never heard of it
That play in game might be too soon for this to be healed…
Spicey…

Can create his own shots with a variety of moves, including step-backs and pull-ups.

An elite rebounder for a guard, particularly strong on the defensive glass.

Wow Podz a top twenty player? I can think of at least 100 players I’d rather have as of right now. 2026-27 is gonna be a bleak year in the NBA.
