Ray Allen To Sign With Heat?

The Heat have reached agreement on a deal with free agent guard Ray Allen, Heat owner Micky Arison announced via Twitter.  The agreement was confirmed by agent Jim Tanner, tweets Sam Amick of Sports Illustrated.  The veteran is widely expected to sign for the mini mid-level exception, worth $3.09MM per year.

"Its 2:30am in London and I was just woken up with great news. Welcome to the family #20!!," Arison announced.

Allen met with Miami on Thursday night without giving them an answer on their contract offer.  The 36-year-old reportedly widdled his choices down to the Heat and Celtics, despite interest from other clubs including the Timberwolves and Grizzlies.

Clippers Rumors: Crawford, Allen, Billups, Hollins

Celtics Close To Three-Year Deal With Jason Terry

1:43pm: A source tells ESPN.com's Marc Stein (Twitter link) that Terry is expected to give the Mavericks a chance to match the three-year offer before agreeing to sign with Boston.

1:38pm: A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com confirms (via Twitter) that the Celtics are close to signing Terry for their full mid-level exception. Spears adds (via Twitter) that the deal is expected to be for three years.

Ainge: Ray Allen Is “Our Number One Priority”

Having reached an agreement with Kevin Garnett to bring him back to Boston, the Celtics have turned their attentions to another one of their veteran free agents — Ray Allen. According to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald, GM Danny Ainge called re-signing Allen his "number one priority" with free agency underway.

Grizzlies Plan To Offer Ray Allen Full Mid-Level

Earlier today, we heard that the Heat intended to aggressively pursue Ray Allen when free agency begins late tonight. However, Miami isn't the only team with Allen atop its wish list. Sources familiar with the Grizzlies' plans tells Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal that Memphis will go hard after Allen, and intends to offer him the team's full $5MM mid-level exception.
