Pacers Sign Tony Bradley To Standard Contract

The Pacers have signed Tony Bradley to a standard contract for the remainder of the season, the team announced in a press release.

Bradley had signed a pair of 10-day contracts with the club and the Pacers opted to retain him once the second 10-day expired. He’s seen action in seven games off the bench, averaging 3.0 points and 1.9 rebounds in 5.0 minutes per contest.

By adding Bradley, the Pacers now have a full roster as the postseason approaches, as our roster counts show.

The 28th overall pick in the 2017 draft, Bradley spent six years in the NBA from 2017-23, but wasn’t in the league last season and had gone more than two calendar years without playing in a regular season game before making four appearances for the Pacers during his first 10 days with the team.

According to coach Rick Carlisle, Bradley has emerged as the ideal third-string center for the club. “In practices and in simulated stuff in the gym, he’s been terrific,” Carlisle said. “Smart, great hands, defensively has a really good feel for what we’re doing here.”

Bradley is backing up Myles Turner and Thomas Bryant. The former UNC standout has earned just over $300K during his 20 days with the club and will now likely receive a prorated veteran’s minimum deal.

Warriors Sign Kevin Knox For Rest Of Season

March 23: Knox’s new deal with the Warriors is official, the team confirmed in a press release.

March 22: The Warriors intend to sign forward Kevin Knox to a rest-of-season contract, sources tell Shams Charania of ESPN (Twitter link).

Knox has already signed a pair of 10-day deals with Golden State this season, so in order to bring him back, the team had to make at least a rest-of-season commitment, since players aren’t permitted to sign three 10-day contracts with a club in the same year.

During his first 20 days with Golden State, the former No. 9 overall pick appeared in seven games off the bench, averaging 4.0 points and 1.6 rebounds in 7.3 minutes per night, with a .458/.273/.750 shooting line in a small sample size.

Knox, who has made 313 total regular season appearances since 2018 for the Knicks, Hawks, Pistons, Trail Blazers, and Warriors, has spent most of the 2024/25 campaign playing for Golden State’s G League affiliate in Santa Cruz. In a total of 28 NBAGL outings, the 6’8″ forward has contributed 21.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 32.6 minutes per game on .495/.389/.759 shooting.

As we outlined last weekend, the Warriors were fast approaching their deadline to re-add a 14th man to their standard roster. Teams are permitted to carry fewer than 14 players on standard contracts for up to two weeks at a time and for up to 28 days in total during a season — Golden State is right up against that 28-day limit.

Assuming it’s officially finalized on Saturday, Knox’s contract will pay him $345,412 for the rest of the season. Charania’s report suggests it’s just a one-year deal, in which case the Warriors figure to carry a cap hit of $275,936. If they were to tack on another year, that cap charge for 2024/25 would increase to $345,412, Knox’s actual salary.

The Warriors will still have an open spot on their 15-man roster after signing Knox and should narrowly have enough breathing room below their hard cap to add a 15th man anytime, assuming his contract just covers the rest of the season.

Kings Promote Isaac Jones To Standard Contract

6:14pm: The Kings will convert two-way center Isaac Jones to a standard contract covering two years, sources tell Shams Charania of ESPN (Twitter link).

Jones, 24, reached his active-game limit on Wednesday after playing four minutes in a victory over Cleveland. As a two-way player who has been with his team since the start of the season, Jones was eligible to be on the active roster for 50 games, whether he played or not.

Jones will be able to resume playing immediately, starting with tonight’s home game against Milwaukee, assuming the new contract is finalized in time. The deal also enables him to participate in the postseason, including play-in games.

Jones signed the two-way contract in July after going undrafted out of Washington State. He has appeared in 31 games in his rookie season, averaging 3.7 points and 1.5 rebounds in 8.3 minutes per night and shooting 67.6% from the field. He has also played 11 regular season games with the team’s G League affiliate in Stockton.

Jones provides interior depth while starting center Domantas Sabonis is sidelined with a sprained right ankle. Sabonis is expected to remain out of action for at least another week.

Sacramento has an opening on its 15-man roster, so another move won’t be necessary before Jones can be promoted. The Kings won’t be able to add someone else to replace him because the deadline for signing two-way players was March 4.

Pelicans Sign Elfrid Payton To 10-Day Contract

10:35am: Payton’s 10-day contract is now official, the Pelicans confirmed in a press release. He is eligible to play in five games over the next 10 days.

9:30am: The Pelicans intend to sign free agent guard Elfrid Payton to a 10-day contract, agent Darrell Comer tells Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link).

A Louisiana native who played college ball at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Payton appeared in seven games with the Pelicans in the fall on a non-guaranteed deal. In one of those games, he recorded a career-best 21 assists. He was released in early December.

Payton, 31, signed a pair of 10-day hardship contracts with Charlotte last month. He struggled to make an impact in his six games with the Hornets, only scoring six points on 3-of-21 shooting (14.3%) in 123 total minutes.

Prior to 2024/25, it had been two full seasons since Payton had appeared in an NBA game, last suiting up for Phoenix in ’21/22. He has spent time in the G League over the past three campaigns, including playing for the Pelicans’ affiliate — the Birmingham Squadron — in ’24/25.

In 13 total games with New Orleans and Charlotte this season, Payton has averaged 4.1 points, 5.2 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 20.5 minutes per contest. He has converted 38.8% of his field goal attempts, including missing his only three-pointer, and split his two free throws.

Mohamed Bamba‘s 10-day contract with the Pelicans recently expired, creating an opening on the team’s standard roster. It’s possible the Pelicans might be able to bring back Bamba while adding Payton — they could qualify for a hardship exception due to the injuries to Dejounte Murray, Herbert Jones, Trey Murphy and Brandon Boston. Boston’s injury, a left ankle stress reaction, is the only one of the four that might not be season-ending — he’ll be reevaluated today.

Payton will earn a $171,756 salary on his new 10-day contract, while New Orleans carries a cap charge of $119,972.

P.J. Tucker Signs Another 10-Day Deal With Knicks

2:00pm: Tucker’s second 10-day deal is now official, the Knicks confirmed in a press release (Twitter link).

10:22am: Veteran forward P.J. Tucker is signing a second 10-day contract with the Knicks, Stefan Bondy of the New York Post reports (via Twitter).

Tucker made his season debut on Wednesday with a two-minute cameo in a loss to San Antonio. He signed his initial 10-day contract with the anticipation that the Knicks would retain him for the remainder of the season. Another 10-day deal doesn’t guarantee that — he’ll have to be signed to a standard contract after this 10-day deal expires to attain that goal.

Tucker started off with the Clippers after picking up his $11.54MM player option over the summer. An agreement was reached in early October that he would remain away from the team while his agent worked with the front office to find a trade.

Nothing materialized until February 1 when the 39-year-old forward was sent to Utah as part of a four-player deal. He was traded again five days later, being shipped to Toronto as part of the five-team Jimmy Butler deal. He remained inactive with the Raptors until he was waived February 28.

Tucker will earn $189,872 over the course of his 10-day deal, while the Knicks carry a cap hit of $119,972. No roster move is necessary, as he’ll continue to hold the 15th spot on New York’s standard roster.

Kings Sign Terry Taylor To 10-Day Contract

8:37 pm: The signing is official, according to a team press release relayed by the Sacramento Bee’s Jason Anderson (Twitter link).

11:37 am: The Kings and forward Terry Taylor have agreed to a 10-day contract, agent Darrell Comer tells Shams Charania of ESPN (Twitter link).

Tayor, 25, has appeared in a total of 95 NBA regular season games for the Pacers and Bulls since 2021, but hasn’t been on an NBA roster since last fall, when he was in camp with Sacramento. He was cut just before the regular season began.

The 6’4″ forward has spent the year in the G League with Sacramento’s affiliate, the Stockton Kings, averaging 16.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.0 block in 33.9 minutes per game across 44 total appearances in the Tip-Off Tournament and the regular season. He has posted a shooting line of .443/.364/.708.

Taylor seems unlikely to enter the Kings’ rotation at the NBA level, but will provide depth as the team continues its push for a postseason berth.

Sacramento had been carrying just 13 players on standard contracts and was required to get back to 14 this week, as we explained on Sunday. Taylor will fill that 14th spot for at least the next 10 days. When his deal expires, the Kings will have the option of signing him to another 10-day deal, signing him for the rest of the season, or letting him go. If Taylor isn’t re-signed, the club would have to add a new 14th man.

Taylor will earn $124,288 over the course of his 10-day deal, while the Kings carry a cap hit of $119,972. He’ll be eligible to appear in up to six games for Sacramento during those 10 days.

Raptors Sign Colin Castleton To Second 10-Day Deal

12:16 pm: Castleton has officially signed his second 10-day contract with the Raptors, the team confirmed in a press release.

11:03 am: The Raptors are bringing back Colin Castleton on a second 10-day contract after his first 10-day deal expired overnight, league sources tell Michael Scotto of HoopsHype (Twitter link).

A 6’11” big man, Castleton has made five appearances thus far for Toronto, averaging 7.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.0 block in 27.8 minutes per contest.

Castleton spent his rookie year on a two-way contract with the Lakers and was on a two-way deal with the Grizzlies for most of the first half of 2024/25. He was waived by Memphis in January.

Although Castleton didn’t have much of an NBA role for the Lakers or Grizzlies, he has been a productive player at the G League level since he went undrafted out of Florida in 2023. In addition to his time with L.A. and Memphis, the 24-year-old has also played for the Magic’s NBAGL affiliate in Osceola.

Toronto has an open spot on its 15-man roster, so no corresponding move will be necessary to make room for Castleton. His 10-day contract will pay him $107,027 and will carry an identical cap hit on the Raptors’ books.

Assuming the signing is completed prior to Sunday’s game at Portland, Castleton will be eligible to play five more games for the Raptors during his second 10-day contract, which will expire overnight on March 25. At that point, the Raptors will have to decide if they want to retain him for the rest of the season.

Sixers Sign Chuma Okeke To Second 10-Day Contract

March 16: Okeke’s second 10-day contract with Philadelphia is now official, per the team.

March 15: Chuma Okeke, who played one game for the Sixers on a 10-day contract last month, will return to the team on another 10-day deal, sources tell NBA insider Marc Stein (Twitter link). Stein adds that Okeke will be available for Sunday afternoon’s game at Dallas.

The 26-year-old combo forward inked his first 10-day contract on February 7, but was waived after just six days when the team promoted two-way player Jared Butler to the 15-man roster. Okeke saw two minutes of action in his only appearance, finishing with no points and one rebound.

Apart from his brief NBA appearance, Okeke has spent the season with the Knicks’ G League affiliate in Westchester, averaging 18.0 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 25 regular season games.

Okeke was mentioned as a potential addition for New York when the team became financially eligible to add a 15th player in late February. New York opted to sign P.J. Tucker to a 10-day deal instead.

The Sixers have a full roster, but they are able to make additions through 10-day deals under the hardship exception because they have several players who have missed at least three consecutive games and are expected to remain sidelined for at least two more weeks.

Free agent forward Oshae Brissett signed a 10-day hardship contract with the team on Friday. Assuming the Sixers don’t plan to release Brissett in order to sign Okeke, they’ll need to have at least five players who meet the hardship criteria in order to make a second 10-day signing. Joel Embiid, Eric Gordon, Jared McCain, Paul George, and Kyle Lowry may all fit the bill.

If Okeke’s deal becomes official on Sunday, he will be eligible to appear in six games before it expires on March 25. Players are limited to two 10-day contracts per team in a season, so the Sixers would have to give him a standard deal to keep him any longer.

Oshae Brissett Signs 10-Day Contract With Sixers

1:35 pm: The signing is official, the Sixers announced today in a press release.

11:07 am: The Sixers will sign Oshae Brissett to a 10-day contract, sources tell Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer (Twitter link).

The 26-year-old forward signed a G League deal in January and was claimed off waivers by the Long Island Nets. He averaged 12.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 11 regular season games with Brooklyn’s affiliate.

Brissett was part of Boston’s championship team last season, but he declined a $2.46MM player option last June in hopes of finding a larger role with another team. He only appeared in 55 games a year ago and was limited to 11.5 minutes per night.

Brissett began his career with Toronto in 2019, signing an Exhibit 10 contract after going undrafted out of Syracuse and earning a two-way deal in training camp. After being waived by the Raptors the following year, Brissett got a late-season opportunity with Indiana. He eventually became a rotation player for the Pacers before signing with the Celtics in free agency in 2023.

Philadelphia, which has fallen into 12th place in the East at 22-43, could offer significant playing to Brissett as long as he’s with the team. The Sixers have a full 15-man roster, but will be able to add Brissett through the hardship exception because they have four players who have missed at least three consecutive games and are expected to remain sidelined for at least two more weeks.

As a five-year veteran, Brissett will earn $139,391 during his 10-day deal. Assuming it become official in time for tonight’s meeting with Indiana, he’ll be eligible to appear in six games before it expires March 23. The Sixers will be permitted to offer him a second 10-day contract as long as they still fall qualify for a hardship exception.

Grizzlies Sign Lamar Stevens For Rest Of Season

The Grizzlies have signed forward Lamar Stevens for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, the team announced today in a press release (via Twitter).

Stevens just spent the past 20 days with Memphis on a pair of back-to-back 10-day contracts. The 27-year-old has appeared in six games this season with the Grizzlies, averaging 4.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 9.9 minutes per contest.

Prior to his promotion, Stevens had been playing in the G League with the Motor City Cruise. In 29 combined games for Detroit’s NBAGL affiliate in ’24/25, Stevens averaged 17.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.4 blocks in 34.0 minutes, with a shooting slash line of .438/.328/.744.

A five-year veteran, Stevens got his NBA start with Cleveland after going undrafted out of Penn State in 2020. He spent his first three seasons with the Cavs, then played for the Celtics and Grizzlies last season.

While the Grizzlies elected not to re-sign Stevens in the 2024 offseason, clearly they still like his game, since he’s back to conclude ’24/25. He’ll provide energy, toughness and solid defense off the bench for a team hoping to make a deep playoff run.

Stevens will continue to occupy the 15th spot on the Grizzlies’ standard roster, which is now full.
