Once the Heat won in Boston last Monday, extending their winning streak to 23 games, we expected the team to have a relatively clear path to 27 straight victories, considering the schedule. After surviving a close call in Cleveland, Miami cruised to wins against the Pistons, Bobcats, and Magic, and sure enough, the team has increased its streak to 27.
Having played the East's four worst teams though, Miami is now facing a tougher portion of the schedule. The Heat's next three games are on the road, and two of those are against talented playoff teams, in the Bulls and Spurs. Sandwiched in between those two contests is a game in New Orleans, where the Hornets ended the Nuggets' 15-game winning streak last night.
Logic would dictate that, like the Nuggets did, the Heat will stumble at some point in the next week or two, and fall short of the 33-game record set by the Lakers over 40 years ago. But Miami has also clearly established itself as the NBA's premier team, and figures to be favored in every game going forward.
So today's poll question is this: When will the Heat suffer their next loss? Which team is the best bet to end this incredible streak? Or, at this point, do you expect the Heat to get to 34?
Either Chicago, San Antonio or New York
As a Heat fan, something tells me that this is ending either tomorrow night against the Bulls, in the game against the Hornets, or in the game against the Knicks. Something is just telling me that Nate Robinson, Jimmy Butler, and/or Daequan Cook will have a big game. If the Heat win that game, I could see Ryan Anderson, Vasquez, Eric Gordon, or Darius Miller doing something big. Same goes if we get to the Knicks. I can see them having another game where they just drop 3s. Whatever happens, this has been an amazing run, but its not realistic and will eventually have to end. All that matters though is that we are still repeating this year, barring injuries
Cook will only play if Beli is hurt. As much as I would like the bulls to end their streak without rose the team is too streaky. If the good team shows up theres a chance but if the bad team shows up it wont even be close
thats true. they do have issues scoring without Rose. Still, it seems that players tend to have really good games against the Heat. So I still think its very possible to see Nate Robinson score 30 in this game, and the Bulls get contributions from Butler, Heinrich, etc to go with Deng, Boozer, and Noah. Obviously, its gonna depend on the Heat role players hitting their shots. If they do, the streak continues. If they dont, its in serious question
Scoring is definitly are biggest problem, If the bulls can hold the heat under 80 id like our chances. I dont know a lot about miami but if boozer is going against bosh or haslem he can score but the bulls dont always give him the ball in the post. Hinrich is going need to hit his 3’s and hopefully him and nate can hit big shots. I dont see deng scoring many points with lebron on him especialy if lebron gives it 100% from the begining on deng.
