Timberwolves swingman Malik Beasley has been fined $35K by the NBA, the league announced today (via Twitter).
The fine is a response to Beasley making “unnecessary and inappropriate” contact with Trail Blazers center Drew Eubanks during Saturday’s game, the league stated.
The incident in question occurred midway through the third quarter of Minnesota’s home win over Portland on Saturday. Beasley and Eubanks got tangled up as Blazers swingman Keon Johnson drove to the basket, and Beasley seemingly attempted to headbutt Eubanks (video link).
Beasley was hit with a technical foul and was ejected from the game.
Beasley is making $14.5MM for the Wolves this season, so the fine won’t put a significant dent into his annual earnings.
Troubling…
No way! you mean the guy who pulled a gun on a family while house hunting is a POS when he plays??!
Well Mr. Beasley was suspended for that by the nba for 12 games. Smh.
What is the deal with guns anyway?
I am trained in gun safety. Everyone i know is trained in gun safety.
Gun safety is also a huge deal for peer pressure.
Everyone i know would not pull a gun just for show. Or point a gun at someone else without self defense or also knowing there is a chance of death.
If you want a gun. Why not get trained so you don’t kill yourself or others? Who uses a gun as a threat. Why have stolen guns? These things bother me.
Guns are attractive because they give instant gratification with regard to power.
Most of the time you need to work to gain power/control. You have to earn people’s respect through actions and experience.
With a gun you have it as soon as you pick it up. Safety is then a secondary concern.
This is also why people whine so much when the idea of guns being taken away comes up (in America). It’s inherently about power so it’s easy to politicize.
